Ludwig Supraphonic Pre-Serial 5x14 Snare Drum. The Supraphonic is one of the most recorded snares in history because of its consistent and reliable sound and playability. The anti-galvanized aluminum shell, configured with 10 lugs, triple-flanged hoops, and the P-85 snare strainer offers a smooth and sensitive quality. This Supraphonic is in overall very good condition. The lugs are pitted and a few look better than others, however the structure of the lugs are solid. The shell has some pitting, scratches, and flaking chrome that most Supraphonic's get after years of being played. The hoops hold the heads flush along with the flanged-in bearing edges. The snare side hoop has a little rust as well as a few features on the P-85 snare strainer. The pre-serial badge sits flush against the shell and has no serial number on it making this drum date 1970. The heads have been upgraded to an Evans G1 coated batter and Remo Ambassador snare side. This snare drum still delivers it's flawless Supraphonic sound and it adds character to any kit! Feel free to contact our shop with any questions.
