This Ludwig Supraphonic 5x14 Snare Drum is a pre-serial Keystone badge dating 1960-63. This drum sounds and plays great! However, it would make for a great players snare drum. It is in good vintage condition and sold as is. The exterior shell has chrome flaking all around the shell, but the shell is round and doesn't have any major dents. The Imperial lugs are functional, but have pitting and some ware. The P-85 snare strainer works smoothly and throws the snares off and on with no problem. The hoops seat the heads tightly, but are not perfectly round. This is common with vintage snare drums and does not drastically effect the sound. The batter hoop has a dent near a tension rod by the snare butt plate (see photo). The baseball bat muffler looks and works like new!
We do our best to be 100% honest with condition on our vintage drums. We feel it's best to let you know every little detail to explain how a drum like this Supraphonic can look far from perfect, but still function, play, and sound like a Supraphonic should!
