A little bit about Chad LaFleur's background:

"Coming from a musical family, I started playing at a young age and have always been into music. I started taking guitar lessons at the age of 8 and after learning the basics, I began taking piano/church organ lessons from Sister Thelma from Holy Trinity Church. I did this for several years, which then lead me start to playing xylophone and marimba (percussion section) in Logan Middle School Band. I earned first chair snare and decided to take drum-set lessons from Larry's Music (now SSE), from former Blue Star Instructor Howard "Howie" Hill.

I continued to play percussion and drums at Logan High School (marching band, orchestra, jazz band, drum-set for theater productions, and many solo & competitions), played snare for the La Crosse Highlanders Drum & Bagpipe Corps, and learned marching snare from another former Blue Star Instructor, Jim Kielley. While attending UW-La Crosse, I continued to play percussion for the Screaming Eagles Marching Band, UW-L Jazz Band, Percussion Choir, and Symphony Orchestra.

My first actual "drum-set band" experience was playing with Blacktop, when I was 19 years old. I continued to play on my own with many other talented musicians and rejoined the snare-line with the Highlanders, as an adult. However, I didn't play with a "stage band" until about 5 years ago when I started playing with Last Call (formally Flashback). I currently play with Last Call where we continue to rock the La Crosse area and still have my share of fun at a variety of venues and stages. I also played with a few other bands in the area... Take Two, Stripped Down, 3-Play, and a few recording sessions with some talented musicians, as well.

My goal is to pass along my musical passion to some of the area's students who would like to advance and learn to not only read and study the foundation on drums, but be successful on a full drum-set. I look forward to meeting some new people/students and teaching them how to enjoy having fun behind a drum kit, along with doing something they love as much as I do."
